Some time ago I saw a great movie that I’m sure you’ve seen too, and if not, I recommend it. It is a wonder of Pixar-Disney that is enjoyed even more in the company of the family. His name, Inside out – or Inside out, in English -.
Using cartoons, the film masterfully portrays a reality as true as it is scientifically proven: emotions are produced in our brain.
The brain and the spine
“The human brain is the organ that generates, interprets and integrates emotions… The brain has specific modules to initiate, understand, categorize, memorize and attend to an emotion.” [1]
They are made in the brain and travel through the spine to the rest of the body. We can perceive them, and depending on the type of emotion, in the stomach, in the intestines, on the face, and even on the skin. They also have very diverse physical manifestations: sweating, laughter, chills, and tears, among others.
But where they end up staying and even hiding, is in the back – causing tension and pain in the area, as well as the ailment of the body’s organs.
